ALBURGH PARISH COUNCIL
Minutes of the Alburgh Parish council meeting held on Thursday, 1st September at 7.30pm in Alburgh Village Hall.
Parish Councillors present:
Mr. Thompson; Chairman, Mrs Davies; Vice Chair, Mrs. Hair, Mrs. Swanston, Mr. Hall, Mrs Gladden-Fenn
Also attending: 9 members of the public
Mr Thompson welcomed everyone to the meeting
To receive apologies from members unable to attend: Mr Legon and Mrs Ellis; Clerk
- To receive any declarations of interest from members on any item to be discussed at this meeting – None
- The minutes of the last meeting held on 7th July, 2022 were approved and signed by Mr. Thompson as a correct record.

No update from the Highway Rangers – Mr. Thompson to chase
Repainting of play equipment to be done on 1st October – Mr Thompson arranging and will publicise among local school parents
Mr. Hall reported that the costs to repair the play equipment would be approximately £600. Mr Thompson to speak with Mr. Stone (County Councillor) to see if funding is available and also consider funding for a new slide
Mr Thompson reported he has got some new larger bin bags for the park bins
Mr Thompson reported he has spoken with (and meeting later in the week) Paul from MF Services with regards the hedges around the park and allotments at Wortwell. He has also spoken with current park lawn cutting contractor about cutting grass at Wortwell allotments. Mr Thompson will also ask him about tidying up the hedging between Millennium Garden and allotments
The village questionnaire has been put on Facebook with a few responses. Once a new letterbox is available the paper version will be distributed.
Mrs Davies reported that the Village Hall Committee were not willing to let PC use the bins and should apply for their own. Mr Thompson to look into the costs
Mr Thompson reported that he has spoken with the Solicitors about the lease for the Village Hall and now looking at using the signed Letters of Acceptance as evidence of membership of PC to enable lease to be signed
Mr Thompson will circulate the alternative dates for the Council Training evenings

Norfolk Western Link Pre-Planning Application Public Consultation is now live. Mr Thompson has shared details on Facebook and Alburgh Talk of this and also the Mobile Library Consultation.
The PCC has requested the use of the playing field for their village fete on 1st July 2023. All agreed this was acceptable. Mr Thompson to advise them of decision
- To receive inspection report on the Playing Field and Homersfield Picnic site
Mrs Swanston did inspection. Alburgh park generally in good order (other than the timber to be replaced as per note in matters arising). Suggested maybe some additional items. Mr Thompson to speak with Mr Stone for funding options.
There has been significant rubbish (incl. tents!) left at Homersfield site. Caroline tidied up as much as possible and has notified the County Council of the rubbish for collection.

Update on Alburgh welcome leaflet – Mrs Hair presented draft. All liked the new design subject to title change and a few editorial amendments. Thanks were offered to Mrs Hair and her Son Quinn for their effort
Update on Film Nights – £190.10 was taken at the film night in July. Mr Gedge and Mr Morris are standing down from role as projectionists. Mr Thompson has been shown how to operate the equipment. Mr Thompson asked if we should offer the film nights to the Village Hall Committee. All agreed not to but to seek support and help from the community.

Village Hall Rep – Julie Davies has stood down as PC rep. Mrs Hair agreed to be the replacement and all agreed.

Joint meetings with other Parish Councils – Mr Thompson reported only Wortwell and Denton seemed interested so he will keep up the communication with them both.
