100th anniversary of start of WW1 – how to mark the occasion
Parish councillors felt that the start of the war should not be celebrated but commemorated. The village hall committee will be holding an event to commemorate WW1 on 26th July by a church service and something at the village hall afterwards such as a ‘tea’. Nothing definite has yet been decided we are waiting to hear what the PCC’s view is. The village hall committee have put an article in the parish magazine to ask for any photos or items that would be suitable for a display.
