South Norfolk Clean Sweep – South Norfolk are carrying out an intensive street cleaning within each parish. The roads due to be cleaned in Alburgh are The Street/Low Road, Church Road and we have requested that School Road be done.
Denton have recently had their Victorian Post Box stolen. Discussions about what we can do to protect our post box. Mr. Denny will see if it has a number on it and take photos, etc. If no number can be seen, the clerk will contact the Post Office. We will also write letters to neighbouring properties asking them to be vigilant and report any suspicious activity.

Alburgh Home Watch – Police are reminding people to be careful with doorstep sellers, following reports from concerned residents about possible rogue traders. They advise to keep your property secure at both the front and back and only answer the door to people you are happy to speak to. If you are concerned about a cold caller, send them away and call the police.
SAM
Mrs. Goose has no news at present. She has put a notice in the magazine advertising for more volunteers.
Parish Council Representative on Village Hall Committee
No body wishes to volunteer and no other person has come forward for this role.
Playing Field Report
Mr. Renaut did inspection. In his absence tonight, Mrs. Goose reported on his behalf that all was clean and tidy.
Open Gardens
Mrs. Gladden Fenn reported that everything is all going to plan. She explained all that she has organised. She has done a really good job and Mr. Denny thanked her for all her hard work.
Opening of Playing Field
Letters of invitation to the opening have gone out. We have received many replies most of whom will be attending. Discussions on how best to display the plaques. It was decided that Refreshments should be available at the end of the event – Tea, Coffee, Scones, etc. Mr. Denny will invite the local press. Mrs. Goose also suggested we advertise it on the South Norfolk Web Site.
Update on Village Screen
Mr. Denny has applied for the copy right licence and has booked the equipment. On the night no one is allowed to drink while the film is on. The parish council feels that Alburgh ice cream is quite expensive. Iceland or Tesco sell packs of smaller ice creams, Cornetto’s and Magnum cheaper and it was decided to go for this option. Mrs. Goose offered to get these and it was decided to get 50. Mrs. Walton suggested we put a form on each seat on the night, for people to choose a film for the next showing. Mr. Denny will get a revised list of films.

Traffic problems at the School
Mrs. Love informed us that 19 parents attended the meeting held at the School on Friday, 8th March. PC Tim Tyler came to this meeting and spoke about how the yellow zig zag lines outside the entrance to the school are being contravened during pick up and drop off times. He explained that the purpose of these lines is to ensure that the area concerned is permanently clear for use by the emergency services, in particular Fire and Ambulance. On no account should motorists use this area for their own convenience. PC Tyler finished by saying that he will be visiting the school a number of times in the future to ensure compliance.
There was also a Questionnaire for parents to give their thoughts and opinions. Many suggestions were made and they are awaiting feedback. Mrs. Love will keep us informed.
To discuss next year’s chairman
Mr. Denny has now done 3 years as chairman and as per the standing orders does not wish to continue.
