Minutes of a meeting held on Thursday, 2nd June 2011 at 7.30pm in Alburgh Village Hall.

Signing of the Minutes
The minutes of the May 2011 meeting were amended and signed by Mr. D Denny, the Chairman as a correct record.

E-mail received from Earsham Parish Council, new clerk Lynda Ling to notify us of the Joint Parish Meeting to be held on Tuesday, 21st June 2011 at 7.30pm in the Parish Rooms, Church Road, Earsham.
Notification of NALC Joint Summer Conference to be held on Tuesday, 28th June 2011 at Norwich City Football Club. No member is interested in attending.
NPTP – Initial Training for Clerks and Councillors. Information on training courses which are going to be held in various locations. There is also information on ‘Whole Council Training’ where all members could receive training in Alburgh. The cost for this is £150.00 for a maximum of 20 people. All were interested in this and felt this was a good idea. Mrs. Pearce will ask Wortwell Parish Council if they are interested in sharing this with us.
Speed Watch
Mr. Renaut has new rota’s to hand out. When Mr. Morris did speed watch the sign was taken down and thrown in the ditch.
Open Gardens
Mr. Denny gave thanks to Mrs. Gladden-Fenn for all the work she has done on organising this event.
Mrs. Gladden-Fenn reported:
She has organised the programme – it was decided to print 150 of these.
The Hall will be open by 9.00am.
Tea, coffee etc to be supplied by the parish councillors. This was organised.
Tables set up organised as is the bringing in of the scarecrows.
Raffle has been organised. Mr. Denny to draw the raffle at approx 5.00pm.
Advertising of this event has been extensive.
Planning
Applications received:
2011/0376 Moat Farm, The Street, Alburgh. Approved with Conditions.
2011/0452 Mr. C. Byer, The Old Cottage, 21 The Street, Alburgh. Approved with Conditions.
Decisions received:

Playing Field
Mrs. Goose did inspection. All was in order.
2 bin bags of personal paper were left, i.e. bank statements, etc. Mrs. Goose went to see the person involved.
The ‘No Dogs’ sign was put up but has been taken down and broken. Mr. Denny has repaired this and put it up again but stronger on wood.
Playing field equipment:
Mr. Denny has looked in to raising money;
- To increase precept by £1,000, the price per household would be in the region of £6.32.
- The Adnams Charity – give away 1% of their profits to charity. They meet quarterly and give Grants from £100 to £2,500.
- The Round Table, The Lions and The 41 Club all give money to charity. Mr. Denny will get names and addresses so that the clerk can write to them and explain our situation.
A Fund-raising committee has been organised with Kim Love, Melanie Bartrum, Kelly Denny and Sarah Briggs and their first meeting is being held next Friday. Mr. Denny will attend to.
Millennium Garden Pond
This needs tidying and the dead reeds taking out. Water levels are low at the moment and John Whitton will see if he can do this by hand. He is concerned about the newts.
War Memorial
Mrs. Walton reported that work has started, it has been sprayed for fungicide and insecticide and now has to be left for two weeks. Work will restart again the first week in June. The architect will ring to let us know. The pamphlets have been printed and are now available for sale at £2.00 each. Mrs. Walton will ask for permission to put them in the church with a box for payment. Clerk to write a letter to Keith Dunbar thanking him for his help in getting the info to the printers. Mr. Denny gave thanks to Mrs. Walton for all her hard work.
Table Top Sale
Mrs. Goose has this all organised. 14 Tables have been booked.

Any Other Business
Mrs. Pearce has completed our 2011 Internal audit. The annual return was approved at this meeting and signed by the clerk and the chairman.
Public participation
Mrs. Wright has asked if we had heard any thing about the phone box. She is not happy as it is on her boundary. Mr. Gedge said that he could make a phone call for us to chase this up.
At the end of the meeting after Mrs. Pearce had left it was agreed to pay Mrs. Pearce £45.00 for carrying out our internal audit.
Mr. Denny thanked everyone for attending and closed the meeting at 8.45pm.
